1. Introduction VikGo built the Ghostwriter Pro app as a Commercial application. This SERVICE is provided by VikGo and is intended for use “as is.” This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.
2. Data Collection and Local Storage Ghostwriter Pro is a “local-first” application. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any external servers owned by us. * Drafts and Content: All blog drafts, post history, and website URLs are stored locally on your device using an encrypted local SQLite database.
- Credentials: Your WordPress Application Passwords and third-party AI API Keys (e.g., OpenAI, Ollama) are stored strictly locally on your device using Android’s native SecureStore encryption. We have no access to your credentials or keys.
3. Device Permissions (Photos & Media) The app may request access to your device’s photo library to allow you to upload images to your blog posts.
- Media Handling: Any images you select are processed locally and transmitted directly to your configured WordPress website. We do not intercept, collect, view, or store your photos on our own servers.
4. Third-Party Services While our app does not collect data, it acts as a client to connect you directly to third-party services of your choosing. By using the app, your data is transmitted directly between your device and:
- Your WordPress Website: To publish your text and media content via the WordPress REST API.
- Your Chosen AI Provider: If you utilize the AI generation features, your prompts are sent directly to the API of the provider you configure (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Ollama Cloud). Please refer to the respective privacy policies of these providers regarding how they handle API requests.
5. App Permissions & Network Access The app requires internet access solely to facilitate the direct connections between your device, your WordPress site, and your chosen AI APIs.
6. Data Deletion Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data. You can delete all data associated with this app at any time by navigating to the Settings screen and tapping “Clear All App Data,” or by simply uninstalling the application from your device.
7. Children’s Privacy These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
